Migoti Coffee Company sources some of the best coffee in Burundi, working with their partner washing stations to purchase cherries directly from farmers high in the mountains overlooking Lake Tanganyika. The company is a vision of Dan Brose, conceived in 2015 during long car trips across Burundi with Pontien Ntunzwenimana, a local engineer. The name “Migoti” comes from a local indigenous tree, which is also the name of the mountain where Pontien built his first coffee washing station.
Dan and Pontien, both born in Burundi, desire to see coffee-producing communities economically transformed, with coffee as a catalyst for the growth. Their vision is to connect local Burundian coffee farmers, through quality coffee processing, with buyers and roasters from around the world.
