Coffee Origins

Yirgacheffe is a region in the Sidamo region known for producing some of the best coffee in Ethiopia. Yirgacheffe, which translates to “Land of Many Springs”, is at an ideal elevation topography and water sources to produce world-class coffees. The Idido Station is one of the washing stations of the Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union.
This is a community lot made up of cherry collected from farmers in the area. The farmers who are part of the Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union deliver their cherry to the Idido Station where it will be processed. Typically, these farmers are multi-generational with a few hectares of land. This particular lot is fully washed. Resulting in a beautiful coffee that tastes of stewed peach, brown sugar and vanilla.
Yirgacheffe is considered by many to be the birthplace of coffee and most coffee trees in the area are from natural, wild heirloom varietals that have been cultivated. Yirgacheffe was the home of the first wet mill washing station in Ethiopia when washed coffees were introduced to Ethiopia in the 1970s..

Each coffee with present different characteristics you may prefer through a specific brew method.

For example Dario loves washed Kenyan’s through the AeroPress, but they taste great as espresso and through the V60.

Blends: Designed with espresso in mind but Dreamer tastes great in the plunger. It’s all down to personal preference!
