Coffee Origins
It is rare to find naturally processed Kenyan coffees, but when we visited Nairobi in early 2025 we were lucky enough to taste a few. As the perception of natural processing is changing in Kenya, producers are beginning to produce coffee using this processing method and achieving some very unique and high quality profiles. The Ruera Natural stood out to us and we are excited to be able to share it with you.
Nestled in the Kiambu region, Ruera Coffee Estate benefits from the rich volcanic soil, temperate climate and high altitude.
The farm offers employment to about 300 workers each day, 30% of who live on the farm’s
labor lines. The residence employees are provided with a crèche for preschool children and a
primary school is within the farm for other children. A dispensary is provided within the farm.
The result is a secure friendly and conducive relationship between the employer, employees
and neighborhood.

Single origins: Our roast style and green coffee preference suits both filter and espresso very well.
Each coffee with present different characteristics you may prefer through a specific brew method.
For example Dario loves washed Kenyan’s through the AeroPress, but they taste great as espresso and through the V60.
Blends: Designed with espresso in mind but Dreamer tastes great in the plunger. It’s all down to personal preference!
