Here’s our answers to the most frequently asked questions we get from customers about coffees and subscriptions.

On-Demand Coffees

What is the best brew method for each coffee?

Single origins: Our roast style and green coffee preference suits both filter and espresso very well.

Each coffee with present different characteristics you may prefer through a specific brew method.

For example Dario loves washed Kenyan’s through the AeroPress, but they taste great as espresso and through the V60.

Blends: Designed with espresso in mind but Dreamer tastes great in the plunger. It’s all down to personal preference!

How long does delivery take?

Major centres, 2-3 days. Outlying 2-5 days depending on how far out-of-the-way the location is.

How much does delivery cost?

Free on all orders over R650, otherwise R65.

Subscriptions

When will I get my order? (Curated Coffee Subscription)

Your Curated Coffee Subscription box will be shipped on the 2nd of every month. If the 2nd falls on a weekend, we’ll ship it out on Monday. 

For deliveries in major centres, your order will arrive within 2-3 days. For outlying areas, depending on how far out-of-the-way the location is, you can expect delivery within 2-5 days.

When will I get my order? (House Blend Subscription)

Your House Blend Subscription box will be shipped within 24 hours of order confirmation. If you ordered on a weekend, we’ll ship it out on Monday. 

For deliveries in major centres, your order will arrive within 2-3 days. For outlying areas, depending on how far out-of-the-way the location is, you can expect delivery within 2-5 days.

Can I pause/cancel?

Yes, you have full control over your subscription. You can pause, upgrade or cancel at any time. 

To do this, simply head over to your account and head over to the subscriptions tab. In there you’ll be able to make all the changes you’ll need.

Is there a minimum time period of subscription?

Nope. You can be subscribed for as long or short a time as you’d like.

How do I change my card details attached to my subscription?

For this one, you’ll need to head over to payfast.co.za. Once there, sign-in and find your way to Ad Hoc Agreements. Here is where you will find and be able to edit the billing info attributed to your subscription with us.

What is the roast degree of your coffees?

Here at Bluebird we roast our coffees to a light to medium roast degree. What this allows us to do is showcase the flavour nuance and integrity.

The Curated Coffee Subscription features light roasted coffees. 

In the House Blend Subscription, the State of Mind and the blend the Friendly Blend are the more developed blends, with the Dreamer showcasing a lighter modern espresso roast.

What is the Blue Bag option?

The Blue Bag program is an add-on to the Curated Coffee Subscription package for those who want to expand their tasting experience and receive a surprise coffee in their subscription every month.

This Blue Bag will have no labels, no names, no hints, nothing. It’s designed to offer you an unbiased tasting experience. 

Then, after 30 days we’ll send you an email with the details of the surprise coffee you were tasting.

We love hearing feedback on this, so we encourage our subscribers to share their tasting notes and favourite brew recipes that they developed over the month.
