Coffee Origins
For those who have been with us a little while, it comes as no surprise that our Kenyan coffees are among the most anticipated releases of the year. For the past two years, Dario and the team have traveled to Dorman’s coffee in Nairobi, Kenya, to taste through hundreds of cups of coffee and narrow down the season’s selections. Karogoto factory has garnered itself quite the reputation as a prolific factory renowned for its quality over the past few years.
We were excited to learn that we would be able to taste some of the coffee from this factory this year, and it did not disappoint. Complex, fruity and clean with a classic Kenyan flavour profile, this AA is our first release from this year’s fresh crop coffees and it’s a banger. The AA coffees cupped well and this was a standout amongst stand out coffees. Selected from a pool of over 400 coffees refined to the 30 best. We love the juicy acidity that Kenyan coffees are known for and that this cup exhibited so well in our selection cuppings We taste lemon sorbet and sweet peach.
The florality and acidity are balanced by the stonefruit sweetness, leading to a punchy, yet perfectly balanced taste experience. This coffee will shine as a filter coffee, highlighting the florals and acidity, but those who know, know that our washed Kenyan coffees are always a treat as a flat white. Milk highlights the dessert like sweetness these coffees can have when the acidity is balanced with just the right amount of steamed milk. Karogoto is the perfect first release for this year’s Kenyan coffees. It’s classic Kenya, complex and sweet like only a Kenyan can be.

FAQs
Single origins: Our roast style and green coffee preference suits both filter and espresso very well.
Each coffee with present different characteristics you may prefer through a specific brew method.
For example Dario loves washed Kenyan’s through the AeroPress, but they taste great as espresso and through the V60.
Blends: Designed with espresso in mind but Dreamer tastes great in the plunger. It’s all down to personal preference!
