Coffee Origins
The Rugali Honey is a delicious interpretation of the classic Rwandan Red Bourbon. The honey process imbues this coffee with rich citric acidity and an almost sticky texture, with flavours reminiscent of blackberry and sweet orange. The deep complexity of these flavours give way to a distinctly tea-like profile that, along with those citric notes, reminds us of a loose-leaf rooibos tea, giving a delightful taste experience that balances the sweet intensity of the honey process with varietal and origin characteristics that we have come to expect from our Rwandan coffees.
Muraho Trading Company (MTCo.) is a specialty coffee producer and exporter in Rwanda founded by brothers Karthick and Gaudam Anbalagan, who grew up in Rwanda and set out to showcase the country’s specialty coffee potential to international markets. Their focus extends beyond coffee quality, being committed to the furthering of education amongst the growers in the region and pouring resources back into the community that surrounds the station and the smallholder farms they buy from. The Rugali Coffee Washing Station is located in the Nyamasheke District of Rwanda’s Western Province near Lake Kivu, one of Africa’s Great Lakes. The station was established in 2016 and quickly became one of Rwanda’s most renowned coffee processing factories, sending coffee from Rwanda to the world, servicing 1500 farmers in the area around the washing station and producing more than 500 tons of coffee each season

Each coffee with present different characteristics you may prefer through a specific brew method.
For example Dario loves washed Kenyan’s through the AeroPress, but they taste great as espresso and through the V60.
Blends: Designed with espresso in mind but Dreamer tastes great in the plunger. It’s all down to personal preference!
